Frequently Asked Questions

In August, professor Martin, along with Marketing Doctoral student Shazad Mohammed, and associate Dean Perry, led a group of 36 students to greece. Included were the first group of WBBA students, who combined the trip with their regularly scheduled class with professor Martin. Landing in Athens at the new airport built to accommodate visitors for the 2004 Olympics, the group proceeded to their hotel near the Plaka, the site of many ancient ruins located at the foot of the famous Acropolis and the Parthenon, which could be viewed from the top of the hotel. Over the next ten days the students visited the Parthenon, the ancient ruins of Mycenae (where, allegedly, king Agamemnon of Trojan war fame, ruled) the great theater at Epidaurus, and some of the Greek isles, including Poros. Some used their free day to travel to Mykonos and Santorini.

For the first time, MAN 4633 was taught overseas and the venture was successful. Dean Perry, who spent many years in seniors positions at Kodak, gave a guest lecture to the class on strategic management. He also accompanies one of the three special topics groups to visit a greek business. This particular company is an outfitter of cruise ships and hotels. The group toured the factory and conducted an interview with the owner. At the end of the trip, Dean Perry offered his praise for a job well done.
